About

Echoes of Resistance is a blog and civic platform dedicated to peaceful dissent, political thought, and public reflection in Ethiopia. In a time marked by authoritarian repression, silencing, and national fragmentation, we choose the path of non-violent resistance — through words, ideas, and historical memory.

We were founded in response to a growing crisis of violence and authoritarianism that has pushed Ethiopia into a state of policrises: political breakdown, social unrest, economic breakdown, disinformation, militarism, and the erosion of civic space. We believe these challenges require not only protest, but also deep civic renewal.

Our work is grounded in the principles of:

  • 🕊️ Peaceful resistance
  • 🧠 Critical, independent thinking
  • ✍️ Free and fearless expression
  • 🤝 Civic responsibility and unity across lines of ethnicity, region, and ideology

We publish:

  • Reflective essays,
  • Political and historical analysis,
  • Blog posts that challenge silence and complicity,
  • And the voices of everyday Ethiopians imagining a more just and peaceful society.

Echoes of Resistance is not affiliated with any political party or interest group. Our allegiance is to truth, dignity, and democratic possibility. We honor Ethiopia’s long tradition of thought, courage, and resistance — and we echo it forward.
